How We Do Business
The City abides by both State and local laws that govern the way the City engages and conducts business with third parties. The City has adopted the Model Procurement Code, as outlined in Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) Chapter 45A.
The City also follows its own Purchasing Policies and Procedures, which outlines the internal staff process for all purchasing activity. You can access the city's Purchasing Policy here.
Covington Procurement Portal
The City of Covington has partnered with Bonfire Interactive to create a new procurement portal for Vendor registration and for access to the City's procurement opportunities. CLICK HERE to go directly to a procurement portal where you can view current or former City solicitations.
Vendor Registration
CLICK HERE to register. Registration is free, quick, and easy. You will be asked to provide basic information relating to your business and will be able to choose the categories of products and services you offer through the selection of one or more NIGP Codes. When registering, businesses are strongly encouraged to select their NIGP commodity /service codes in order to receive email notifications from the City of opportunities that match their services.
Should you experience technical issues relating your registration on the City's procurement portal, we would ask that you reach out to Bonfire directly at Support@GoBonfire.com, before contacting the City.
Surplus Property
The City utilizes a third-party website to facilitate the auction of government surplus. GovDeals provides online services to government agencies that allow them to sell surplus and confiscated items. Each auction is subject to its own rules and regulations, as well as state and local ordinances.
