Building & Zoning

If you are making improvements or additions to your property, it is important that before you begin construction you obtain the appropriate building and zoning permits. Contact Planning and Development Services of Kenton County for more information on what permits you may be required to obtain, or call our Zoning Specialist at 859-292-2135 who is happy to help you.

When making improvements to your property or the outside of your business, a zoning permit may be required. Improvements such as fences, signs, or any additions or extensions to your building require a permit to ensure that your project is being done in accordance with local zoning regulations. Visit our zoning page to learn more.

Fire Safety

The Covington Fire Department conducts annual fire safety inspections in all businesses in the City throughout the year. The purpose of this inspection is to keep your employees and your building safe from fire risk. If you have a question regarding your business inspection, please call 859-292-2344 or email gjohnson@covigtonky.gov.
