Abandoned Vehicles - Private Property

Please use this service request to request the removal of a vehicle on private property. Please note that some circumstances, including when vehicles have been reported stolen, specific legal processes must be followed before removal is possible.

If the vehicle is determined to be dangerous by the Community Services Division, the Police will be notified for ticketing and/or removal. Reports of abandoned vehicles are addressed within 30 days if the vehicle is located on private property.

Please use this service request to request the removal of vehicles on public property. Please note that some under some circumstances, including when vehicles have been reported stolen, specific legal processes may be required before removal is possible. If the vehicle is determined to be dangerous by the Police Department it may be immediately ticketed and towed.

Bicycles - Abandoned

To report or recover abandoned bicycles please contact the Crime Lab at the Covington Police Dept. Abandoned bikes are those parked with rusted chains or missing parts. Once investigated, bicycles will be tagged and taken to the Police Department headquarters. The owner has 60 days to move or claim the bike before they are removed. To claim a confiscated bicycle please contact the Police Dept. Crime Lab.
